dc.description.abstract	Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku populace seniorů. Teoretická část definuje pojmy stárnutí a stáří, uvádí sociální specifika seniorské populace, charakterizuje proces vzdělávání v obecné rovině, i z pohledu jeho zaměření na populaci dospělých a seniorů. Teoretická část práce se zabývá také úrovní dosaženého vzdělání v populaci České republiky, funkcí a významem vzdělávání v produktivním věku, motivací seniorů pro vzdělávání a bariérami ve vzdělávání seniorů. Problematika vzdělávání seniorů na univerzitách třetího věku, konkrétně pak na Masarykově univerzitě, je uvedena exkurzem do historie vzdělávání dospělých. Praktická část diplomové práce se zaměřuje na analýzu sociálních charakteristik seniorů, na jejich motivaci pro studium na U3V, jejich přístup k dalšímu vzdělávání a na analýzu sociodemografických charakteristik populace seniorů.

dc.description.abstract-translated	The Master's thesis focuses on the issue of the population of senior citizens. The theoretical part defines the terms of old age and aging, deals with social specifics of senior citizens population, characterizes the proces of learning both in general terms as well as focused on adult population and senior citizens. In the theoretical part, the author analyses the level of gained qualifications in the Czech Republic general population, the role and purpose of learning in productive age, the motivation of senior citizens for further learning, and the hindrance and restraints on senior citizens further learning. The issue of senior citizens further learning at the universities of the third age, at Masaryk University in particular, is being introduced by an insight into the history of adult further education. The practical part of the thesis aims at the analysis of social characteristics of senior citizens, their motivation for learning at U3A, their access to further education, and the analysis of social and demo-graphic characteristics of the population of senior citizens.
