dc.description.abstract	Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou mediální informovanosti seniorů v období pandemie COVID-19. Reaguje tak na aktuální problémy současné společnosti. Tato doba turbulentním způsobem změnila fungování celého světa. Život se zpomalil a vládní opatření začala určovat, jak budeme žít. Teoretická část diplomové práce se věnuje charakteristice seniorského věku, pandemie COVID-19 a především mediálnímu informovanost seniorů v tomto období. Práce také popisuje vybrané světové výzkumy ke zvolenému tématu. Praktická část má ambici analyzovat názory seniorů na informovanost v době pandemie a zjistit, jak senioři hodnotí změny ve svých životech vyvolaných informacemi, plynoucí z této situace. Dále zjistit, čeho se senioři v souvislosti s budoucností v tomto období obávají a jaká pozitiva ve svém životě očekávají. Výzkum ukázal, že v období pandemie se život seniorů zásadním způsobem změnil. Výrazně trpí pocitem osamění, izolace a informace z médií jsou pro ně negativní.

dc.description.abstract-translated	This thesis will focus on the elderly´s perception of media coverage of the Covid-19 Pandemic. It will, therefore, respond to the latest problems human society is facing today. The pandemic has had a significant effect on social and economic systems on a global scale. The pace of life has slowed down, and the restrictions imposed by local governments have begun to redetermine the way we live our everyday lives. The theoretical aspect of the diploma thesis will explore the basic characteristics of two retirement-age groups, one with subjects between the ages of 60 and 75 and the other with those of over 75. Secondly, the basic facts and latest COVID-19 pandemic data will be presented together with the up-to -date scientific research and development of the illness. Finally, I will look closely into the elderly´s perception of media coverage and the influence it has. The practical section will try to analyse the elderly´s different points of views with regards to restrictions and lockdowns during their forced confinements. The aim is to find out how these two retirement-age groups perceive and respond to the life-changing situations based on the information given by the media. The goal is to examine both the elderly´s negative and positive attitudes as well as fears and hopes they have for the future. Research has shown that the lives of the elderly changed dramatically during the pandemic. They have suffered significantly from feelings of loneliness, isolation and information from the media has had mostly negative effect on them.
