dc.description.abstract	Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na to, jak James Fenimore Cooper vyobrazil pojetí hranic v jeho stěžejním díle americké literatury Příběhy Kožené Punčochy. Nejdříve je popsán původ samotného slova "frontier" a jeho postupný vývoj v rámci anglického jazyka. Poté je nastíněno, jakou roli hrálo "frontier" v rámci amerických dějin a vzniku americké kultury. Poté následuje stručný životopis a rozbor stylu psaní Jamese Fenimore Coopera. A nakonec je popsáno jakým způsobem vyobrazil "frontier" v jeho stěžejním díle Příběhy Kožené punčochy a jakým způsobem to ovlivnilo pohled na dějiny USA.

And lastly, it analyses James Fenimore Cooper's background, writing style and his depiction of the American frontier and its influence on the American history and literature.
