dc.description.abstract The purpose of the paper was to describe the influence of the Zlín company of Baťa and thein activities on the original state of the landscape and on people in the region of the middle reaches of the Sázava River, specifically the little town of Zruč nad Sázavou and its immediate vicinity. According to extant sources and knowledge, namely of so called oral history, an effort was made to discover and assess the causes and consequences of this influence on the town in line with the political, economic and social situation in the past, specifically during the period between 1939–1949 which was of key importance for this specific location. en
