Diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi a omezeními linuxových distribucí jako náhrady za komerční operační systémy. V teoretické části jsou popsány operační systémy a jejich vlastnosti. Pojednává také o vybraných operačních systémech Windows, macOS a GNU/Linux, jejich vývoji a vlastnostech. Jsou též popsány vybrané linuxové distribuce a jejich grafická prostředí. V praktické části jsou stanoveny klíčové vlastnosti operačních systémů a vybrány linuxové distribuce pro nasazení v domácím, firemním a školním prostředí. Vybrané distribuce jsou následně podle zvolených vlastností porovnávány. V závěru těchto srovnání jsou stanoveny možnosti a omezení náhrady za komerční operační systémy. |

This thesis deals with the possibilites and limitations of Linux distributions as a substitute for commercial operating systems. The theoretical part describes operating systems and their properties. It also deals with selected operating systems Windows, macOS and GNU/Linux, their development and their features. In next part are described Linux distributions and their graphic environments. In practical part are determined key properties of operating systems and selected Linux distributions for deployment in the home, corporate and school environment. Selected distributions are compared according to the selected properties. At the end of the conclusion are set the possibilities and limitations of Linux distributions as a substitute for commercial operating systems. |
