Moja práca sa zaoberá vznikom a vývojom streetwearovej kultúry od jej vzniku v 80. rokoch 20. storočia v USA až po dnes. Skúma pôvod a následný dopad trendov, ako je oversized oblečenie, športové či pracovné odevy vznikajúce zo subkultúr hiphopovej a metalovej hudby, skateboardingu a streetartu. Taktiež sa venuje kľúčovým značkám, ktoré stáli pri vývoji tohto štýlu od jeho úplných začiatkov až po dnes a tak sa stali jeho neoddeliteľnou súčasťou, resp. nielen ikonami streetwearu, ale aj populárnej kultúry 20. storočia. Ako sa z lacného pracovného a športového, o veľkosť väčšieho oblečenia, stal pomocou umenia, hudby a života na ulici globálny fenomén? V práci sa taktiež venujem skúmaniu technológií výroby oblečenia a posunu jeho výrazu cez rôzne digitálne prostriedky. Venoval som sa výšivke a sieťotlači, ale aj 3D skenovaniu a tvorbe responzívnej webstránky. |

My thesis deals with the emergence and development of streetwear culture, from its origins in the 1980s in the USA to the present day. It explores the origins and subsequent impact of trends such as oversized clothing, sportswear, and workwear that arose from subcultures like hip-hop, metal music, skateboarding, and street art. It also focuses on the key brands that have been part of the development of this style from its very beginnings up to today, becoming an inseparable part of it, not only as icons of streetwear but also of 20th-century popular culture. How did cheap, oversized workwear and sportswear become a global phenomenon through the influence of music, art, and life on the streets? My work also examines clothing production technologies and how its expression has shifted through various digital means. I focused on embroidery and screen printing, but also on 3D scanning and creating a responsive website. |
