dc.description.abstract	Bakalářská práce líčí zejména historický vývoj české penitenciaristiky s odkazem na transformaci podob a metod trestání a věznění. Teoretickou část tvoří kapitoly popisující období středověku po vládu habsburské monarchie, dotýká se formování vězeňství v období první republiky a období druhé světové války, dále pak éry komunistické totality a etapy tzv. normalizace až do roku 1989. Další část pojednává o reformě vězeňství po roce 1989 a jeho současném stavu. Praktická část nastiňuje charakter, účel a význam Výzkumného ústavu penologického.	cs

dc.description.abstract-translated	The bachelor thesis depicts the historical development of czech prison system with reference to the transformation of forms and methods of punishment and imprisonment. The theoretical part consists of chapters describing the Middle Ages to the Habsburg monarchy, mentions the formation of the prison system within the First Czechoslovak Republic and the World War II, then in the era of communist totality and during "normalization period" until 1989. Another part describes the reform of the prison system since 1989 and its current status. The practical part outlines the character, purpose and importance of the Penological Research Institute.	en
