dc.description.abstract	Tato práce se zaměřuje na vyobrazení duševního zdraví v románu <i>Pod skleněným zvonem</i> americké autorky Sylvie Plath, se zvláštním důrazem na psychické problémy hlavní hrdinky Esther Greenwoodové. Prostřednictvím literární analýzy podpořené psychologickými koncepty a definicemi tato práce zkoumá Estheriny zkušenosti v Americe v 50. letech 20. století, kdy bylo povědomí o duševním zdraví a problémech s ním nízké. Analýza identifikuje příznaky deprese a problémy s identitou v průběhu celého vyprávění a zkoumá, jak jsou tyto symptomy v románu reprezentovány a následně léčeny. Tato práce zdůrazňuje význam informovanosti o duševním zdraví a vybízí k destigmatizaci problémů s ním spojených.

dc.description.abstract-translated	This thesis focuses on the portrayal of mental health in the novel <i>The Bell Jar</i> by American author Sylvia Plath, with a particular focus on the psychological struggles of the main character, Esther Greenwood. Through literary analysis supported by psychological concepts and definitions, this work explores Esther's experience in 1950s America when awareness of mental health and problems associated with it was low. The analysis identifies signs of depression and struggles with identity throughout the narrative and examines how these symptoms are represented and subsequent treated in the novel. This thesis emphasizes the significance of mental health awareness and encourages further destigmatization of mental health issues.
